December 16, 2008

I took Ginny and Jacki literally yesterday and focused on my follow up only. No contacts. Used several of the suggestions that were made but didn't get any good results. Seems nobody wants to take the time to look at it right now and if they have they don't want to make a decision right now amidst the Holiday Season. I will try the suggestion that Jacki made on the call this morning, about having them sign up now and take advantage of getting paid for their own shopping and not work on building the business until after the Holidays. I think this is a great suggestion.
We were told this morning that they were lifting the requirements as of today because of the pressure of the Holidays. We are at choice as to keep doing the contacts and follow ups during the time that we have off. Ginny and Jacki will still be there for support. I never intended to stop during the Holiday hiatus but would only slack off, in order to keep my sanity. That is still my intention. I do have to say that this is a real relief in some ways but in other ways I think I will miss the routine of being on the phone call, blogging and getting the report in each day. I will be going back over each of the calls to see what I missed and need to pick up to keep moving forward. My goal is to be organized and ready to hit the deck running on January 5th!

December 15, 2008

I went to a small community not far from here, where the whole town focuses on Holiday Shopping for one day. Not only are the local businesses geared up for this day, but all around town there are vendors set up in 5-6 other buildings. They end the day with a parade and fireworks. I managed to get there before they got really busy and was able to make good contacts with vendors. Had hoped to make contacts in the restaurant that we ate in but by then it was too busy. Made my last contact in a clothing store that I will be going back to. They will begin carrying a product that I need to have. It was a fun and very satisfying day. I had spent some time that morning visualizing what I wanted the day to be and the contacts that I would be able to make. Setting my intention for the day seems to help.
Worked on my follow up yesterday. Didn't have as much fun or as much luck. Lessons learned are: Get more familiar with the follow up script that Ginny gave us and be sure to consciously set my intention for the day. Both of these I am sure will make a difference.

December 14, 2008

Oh Boy! Not understanding the technology, I somehow set up two different blogs. All last week I blogged to the wrong one. Obviously, I am still in the learning curve. lol Short synopsis of last week: While I am not getting my 5 contacts each day, I am gong (and getting) more "cold" contacts. Getting the contacts is not hard, getting the time to go get the contacts is the challenge. I like to have a little more routine than what my schedule will allow right now. This is another "getting out of my comfort zone" learning. It is becoming more of a habit to talk to people about My Power Mall each day.
This coming Wednesday, I will be attending a Business Women's Network Breakfast. I have been waiting for the email that lets' us know the time, date etc. I, of course, plan to give my elevator speech about MPM. (That's all the time they allow each one of us.) I was so excited when I received the email that I immediately called them up to register. While I was waiting to be connected with the person in charge of registration, I realized that it would be at the same time that I have to be on the MPM phone call. The morning call is the only time that I can really be on the calls as I am working during the afternoon calls. When she came to the phone I began to explain that I called to register but realized that I had a conflict. I just began to talk some more and found myself saying that where there is a will there is a way..... Suddenly the light bulb came on. I realized there is a way that should work for me to be on the afternoon call. I went ahead and registered to go the the Network Breakfast and am confident that I will be able to be on the call in the afternoon. This is what "never giving up" is about!
I think I now have it figured out which blog to blog to for Boot Camp. Hope so!

December 8, 2008

I spent the weekend working on getting better organized and figuring out how to most effectively work Boot Camp into my weird schedule. Think I have got it worked out now. Just have to try it and see how it works, maybe having to do some more tweaking along the way.
Showed it to a non-profit on Sunday who was pretty enthused, but did not sign up right away. Good thing because Ginny announced on this mornings call that NPO's could sign up for free. I am so excited to call them and let them know that it is hard to wait until noon, when they come into the office!
I am experiencing that the follow ups are going to be time consuming. It has been really hard to get ahold of people and when I do reach someone, they haven't gone to the website to look at it. They always say they will but who knows......? Just got to keep "trucking on. I knew when I came on board that I would have to stretch myself and I am commited to doing that. I also know that if I don't quit, at some point it will all pay off. I hold onto the goal of Boot Camp and when that is not enough I hold on to my dream of making a difference in the lives of multitudes of people and in the world. That one always gets me through any obstacle.

I am still figuring out the best way to fit the time into my life. My schedule can change from day to day and I am learning how "to go with the flow" on a daily basis. I only got 4 contacts yesterday before reporting time but knew that at the concert the I was required to go to I would be able to get more contacts that day. Of course, I wanted to count them in on yesterday because technically they were on the 4th of December. However, I realized that any contacts made after my report was sent in will just have to go on to the next days reporting. This means that while I only got 4 for yesterday, I already have one for today before my day even gets started. How cool is that? Still figuring things out but feel that I am gaining ground and getting my footing solidly under me.
Finally had to give up getting my Invitation Cards done through MPM. Had to take them down to Office Depot and have them done in person. I tried, but just can't do everything through MPM. This may be a bigger problem for those of us who are not in the "continous" US than for others.
I am having real good success with Eleanor's three questions. However, last night at the concert, I decided to talk to this woman more about the shopping on line aspect. As soon as I said that, her husband said "You are talking to the right woman, she loves to shop on line." Don't you love how supportive the Universe is?

I was a bit concerned today about having time to make my contacts because I would be stuck in a clients kitchen all day. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy my business, but wanted to be out making contacts. The free moments that my mind had I worked on Eleanor's script. I had to make 4 stops on my way home. Made contacts at all four and was working on getting the last one when I realized I had to quit and get home to send in my report by deadline time. So, didn't make all five but the really great thing is that they were all "cold" contacts. I have up to now relied on my "warm" contacts quite a bit.
I want to tell you about the contact I made at PetZoo. I have been looking for a litter mat for my cat's box for quite some time now but haven't found any that looked like they would be real effective for the type of litter I use. (Environmentally friendly one, of course.). Saw one at PetZoo but it was huge-I could have used it for the front door, it was that big. Too expensive too. I saw a woman with another type of litter mat in her basket and asked if she had used that type before. She said "No, but was hoping it would work." I told her about the one I was looking at and she had looked at it too and decided it was too big and too expensive. I told I was thinking about talking to my neighbor, who has cats, to see if she would be interested in splitting it with me. (It is made out of rubber and could be cut.) She said, "I would do that with you!". We agreed and when we got up to the cashier counter we asked if he had a pair of scissors to cut it in half. He did, and even cut it for us. I put it on my card and she gave me cash. I even had the right change to give back to her. (The Universe is so supportive.) Of course I asked her the question. She gave me her information and took mine and we both found out what type of cat we had and how much we love them, found out that she is single also. I will follow up with her today. Also remembered to tell her I would use her name in the subject title to let her know my emails were not spam. She appreciated that.
I had a very good day yesterday and was also trying a HeartMath technique that I learned in last weekend's class that I believe was helping. Will test it out more and let you know my conclusions.

I managed among all the action to sort things out and have to come to the conclusion that the electronic stuff is just going to have to wait so that I can concentrate on making contacts. Making that decision got things rolling again. I only had a few moments yesterday to make any contacts, and one person actually came up to me to initiate the conversation. I was still in a bit of frustration state and almost walked away with out making the contact. I caught myself and turned back around and asked the question. I look forward to follow up with him today. Unfortunately, he was the only contact I made yesterday. I'm not sure, with my isolation on the jobs, if I will be able to make 5 contacts each day but my goal is to make 25 each week. That means working on the weekends. We were told to make this a daily habit and I will do that.
I host a Master Mind group in my home o Tuesday nights and arrive home from work just 15 minutes before the group begins to arrive. One person arrived on time and the others were late. In that time, the on-time person helped me figure out how to copy my Invitation Cards on a CD to take to the print shop. All it took was me getting out of the "muck" in my mind and getting clear on the path I am to take. Tuning in to myself and getting clarity cleared the way for things to begin moving along again. Even was able to make some follow up contacts yesterday but so far no one has committed themselves. Will be doing more follow up as I am behind on that.
